Xu Ming: Good morning, Madam. 

Caroline Walter: Good morning.

Xu Ming: My name is Xu Ming. I’m here for an interview as requested.

Caroline Walter: Oh, nice to meet you, Mr. Xu. Please take a seat. I am Caroline Walter. I’m the manager of HR department.

Caroline Walter: We are interested in your application for the position of project manager.

Xu Ming: Well, I’m excited about the job.

Caroline Walter: Would you please tell me a little bit about yourself?

Xu Ming: Sure. I’m from Guangzhou. I got my bachelor’s degree in business from Guangzhou University 4 years ago, and my major is marketing. I’m very creative and motivated. After my graduation I worked on several major marketing projects with positive results. I am now looking for a challenging position in an established company.

Caroline Walter: Very good. Can you tell me about your language proficiency?

Xu Ming: I am fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, and can speak conversational French as well. I passed CET4 and CET6 in my university study. Besides, I got the certificate of BEC Higher level.

Caroline Walter: Excellent. Our customers are around the world, and a good command of languages will surely help. What do you consider your greatest strength?

Xu Ming: My time management skills are excellent. I think I’m well-organized, efficient, and take pride in excelling at my work.

Caroline Walter: Then would you mind if I ask what you think your greatest weakness is?

Xu Ming: Well, I think everyone has weakness, because nobody is perfect. And my greatest weakness is that I like to see a job done quickly, and if it isn’t, I'll be critical.

Caroline Walter: Very impressive. May I ask why you are interested in working with our company?

Xu Ming: Well, your company is one of the leaders of LED lighting products in China. Your company has enjoyed 15% growth over the past five years. Having worked in the field of lighting appliances for the past 4 years, I would appreciate this opportunity to work with such an successful and promising company.

Caroline Walter: Good, do you have any questions about the job?

Xu Ming: Yes, I’ve got one. I’m wondering if you have some training program for the employees?

Caroline Walter: Yes, we do. Some of our Chinese employees are sent to the United States to undergo the training program provided by the head office. All Chinese employees are eligible for this training programe.

Xu Ming: I see. Thank you.
