Waiter: Good evening, Madam and Sir. Welcome to the Parklane Restaurant. May I help you?
Maria: Yes, I made a reservation for two yesterday afternoon under the name of Ms. Watson.
Waiter: Just a moment, please. I'll have a look at our reservation book. Oh, yes, Ms Watson, we are expecting you. This way, please.
Waiter: Here are the menus. Do you want me to recommend something from the Menu? Our restaurant serves some specialties that are very popular.
Maria: Oh, yes, please.
Waiter: These are starters, these are main courses and these are deserts. And for the main course, the T-bone steak is very good. I would suggest that you try this.
Maria: Would you like to have T-bone steak, Mr. Fraser?
Robert: That’s a good idea. I love beef steak, I’ll have the T-bone steak.
Waiter: How would you like it cooked? Rare, medium, medium well or well done?
Robert: Medium well, please.
Waiter: OK. And what would you like for your appetizer?
Robert: I’ll have a vegetable salad and assorted canape.
Maria: And I’ll have a fruit salad and baked salmon. (pointing at the menu) What’s this, seems rather special.
Waiter: That’s another specialty of our restaurant--lamb cooked with herbs and served with spaghetti.
Maria: That sounds nice, I’ll try that.
Waiter: Which sauce would you like? We have black pepper sauce, red wine sauce, onion sauce, vanilla sauce, BBQ sauce and mushroom sauce.
Maria: I’d like the mushroom sauce.
Waiter: That’s fine. What soup would you like to order?
Maria: The creamed mashed chicken soup here is really nice, Mr. Fraser, I’d recommend it to you.
Robert: Sounds great.
Maria: Two creamed mashed chicken soup, please.
Waiter: Yes, two mashed chicken soup, Madam.
Maria: Mr. Fraser, to celebrate our business relationship, would you like to have some wine?
Robert: Sure! You know, speaking of red wine, or wine in general, red wine is often paired with red meat, white wine is often paired with white meat. And of course Champaign is used for celebrations. Given that we’ve ordered red meat, I suggest that we go with the red wine.
Waiter: Our red wine is very famous and here are a variety for you to choose. You can taste it and make your decision. The list is over here.
Maria: Mr. Fraser, I think you’re an expert in wine. Would you pick one for our dinner?
Robert: Thank you for counting on me. I like white wine from France, but I prefer red wine from Australia. I think maybe this Merlot would be nice(pointing at the menu). How about this one?
Waiter: Oh sure. Do you like any cheese to go with it? Cheese is the best thing to go with red wine. And we really have fresh cheese which will be free if you order red wine. Here are the pictures.
Robert: That’s nice.
Waiter: Pick out something you like.
Robert: I'd like this one. It looks very attractive.
Waiter: Nice choice. Anything for desert? Our chocolate brownie is very tasty, and we have brandy truffle and black forest cake as our new offers.
Maria: We would like to have two chocolate brownies and two coffees. By the way, can we have two glasses of water?
Waiter: Certainly, Madam. And I'll bring you water right away.
