提要与知识

(Dina complains to Kite because Kite always gets back to the office late after lunch and Dina has to answer the phone calls for Kite. Kite complains because the after-sales service is seriously short-staffed.)

场景:职员办公室   人物:Dina、Kite

Dina: Kite, you are finally back!

Kite: Sorry, Dina.

Dina: It's almost 1:30.

Kite: So sorry really.

Dina: It’s OK. Well, Kite, I’m so sorry to have to say that there are many phone calls for you after lunch and I always have to answer those for you.

Kite: Oh, thank you for that. Thank you.

Dina: You know, this is a very busy time; and many foreign customers would make calls consulting about the service. If you are not here during this time, the phone calls cannot be answered immediately and the problems cannot be solved, and you know what image of our company it may result in.

Kite: I’m very sorry. But I...thank you, Dina. Thank you really.

Dina: I’m wondering why you always get back late after lunch.

Kite: Well, Dina You know, there are so many calls enquiring about the service of our company. And I am the only person that answers these calls. Besides, I have to reply customers’ emails as well.

Dina: Oh, really? I didn't know that.

Kite: These phone calls and emails just keep me very busy on this position, even during the lunch time. Sometimes I have to stay here answering the calls before I could have lunch, 20 to 30 minutes late for it.

Dina: Oh, poor guy. I’m so sorry to hear that.

Kite: Sometimes I even have to deal with the emails when I go back home. Otherwise, the emails would pile up the next day when I’m back to the office.

Dina: I can tell how busy you are. Did you report this to the manager?

Kite: Yes, I did. I reported this to him twice. And he said that he would appoint an assistant for me. But the assistant hasn’t arrived yet.

Dina: I hope the assistant could arrive soon…

Kite: You know, the sales volume has almost doubled and the after-sales service could hardly follow up unless the service department upstaffs. I mean, not only do we need engineers for maintenance , we also need to man the telephone service.

Dina: I see. Maybe the manager is too busy to arrange this. You can talk to him again. The service is really important for the company and good after-sales service really matters. Otherwise, the image of company would be affected.

Kite: Yes. Thank you so much, Dina. And I am very sorry for bothering you. Please just let me know if there’s anything I can do for you.

Dina: That’s all right. Kite, we are a team, so we should help each other. I hope the manager could man the after-sales service in a short time.

Kite: I hope so. Thanks.
