Tony: Leo, I noticed that we changed the supplier of the baby clothing set, any reason?

Leo: Yes, Mr. Saber. Our regular supplier, Lovely Baby Clothing Cooperation is in trouble recently. They can not supply us the regular quantity at present and they even quoted for a much higher price than the previous orders.

Tony: I see. How about the new supplier? It’s the Little Angle Clothing Company, isn’t it?

Leo: Yes, Mr. Saber. Susan is following up with that.

Tony: OK. Susan, would you mind telling me about this new supplier?

Susan: Certainly. The Little Angle Clothing Company is one of the ten biggest children-clothing producers in the country from which we import our goods. They are looking for new clients recently so we seize the opportunity. We’ve received their baby clothing set samples of different grades and decide to take them, this BC319 model as a trial.

Leo: Well, Mr. Saber. I’ve also sent the samples to your office before we make the decision.

Tony: Ah, yes. I saw them on my table when I came back from the business trip. They all look good. How about the price?

Susan: They quoted for $39.99 per set, FOB. New York.

Tony: That’s a bit expensive, isn’t it? Ah, have you tried bargain it ?

Susan: Yes, Mr. Saber. But, we made a counter-offer by 10% lower but the utmost they can do just reduce it by 3%. That is, $38.80 per set, FOB New York. It’s quite a fair price compared with what we can get from the Lovely Baby Clothing Company.

Tony: Another thing we have to pay attention to is the manufacturer’s packing of our imported products.

Susan: I suggest that the clothes with accessories should be packed in cartons with beehives lined with shark proof paper board.

Leo: Yes, and on the outer packing, mark wording "Handle with Care" is of help.

Tony: Good idea, Leo. Would you please make sure that our supplier does this?

Leo: Sure, Mr. Saber. I’ll contact them in person to discuss the ways of improving up the packing.

Tony: Thank you, Leo. Since we are going to make a large order, do you have any ideas to prevent shortage of quantity?

Susan: Well, we can require the supplier to mark the cases so as to have a clue, for example, we may ask the Little Angle  Clothing Company to pack 100 dozen cases of baby suit set in a wooden case marked LA and numbered from No. 1 upward.

Tony: OK, good. Um, Leo, please make sure that our suppliers get the requirements of our packing and please ask them to do so accordingly before we make an order. Now let’s continue to clear up some problems from the old contract.
