场景:会议室(介绍公司)    人物:Julia、Jennie、Tony、David

Julia: ... OK, I hope you've known more about our company and products through this short presentation.

 All: Yes, definitely.

Julia: Now, I’d like to show you the layout of our company. Look at this floor plan, and we’re now in the Marketing Department.

Jennie: Oh. It’s so big.

Julia: Yes, it’s the biggest office in this company, because there are some shelves, you know, showing our products. Just as you see it.

Tony: En, marketing department is always the biggest department in a company, and it has to deal with a lot of businesses.

Julia: Yes, besides planning promotion campaigns, you know, there are many other things for us to do, for example, conducting marketing surveys. We make survey for a new product, you know, to see what customers’ expectation is and what they really need and want from the product. And we also make marketing strategies, and you know, coordinate the sales around the country, and things alike.

Jennie: What department is the one facing the Marketing Department?

Julia: The opposite of it is the Sales Department.

David: There must be a lot of people in that department. In our company, we have more than 100.

Julia: We have about 90. Yeah, We have about 90 staff there. They just fly everywhere, you know, and they’re responsible for selling products and signing contracts. Now, to the right of the Sales Department is the reception, near the entrance.

Jennie: We met a very nice receptionist there just now.

Julia: Oh, really? Opposite the reception, and to the right of the Marketing Department, are the lifts and stairs.

Tony: Oh, they’re on the same side. And the lift is very new and spacious.

Julia: Yes. It’s newly installed. Now, if we walk down the corridor, and as you can see it, the Purchasing Department is on your right-hand side.

Jennie: Oh, I see. This department buys in all the materials that the company needs, right?

Julia: Yeah, that’s right. They need to find suppliers for different materials.

David: Ms Sullivan, could you tell me what’s down at the far end of the corridor there?

Julia: Ah, yeah, certainly. That’s our conference room. The small room close to it on the right is the coffee room. There’s a coffee machine and a hot water machine. So the staff can make coffee and tea and have some snacks. Self-catering, of course.

All: Oh, great!

Julia: Next to the coffee room is the Accounting Department, which handles money matters of the company.

Tony: Oh, it's an indispensable department in a company, I suppose?

Julia: You are quite right. The manager of the department has a very high position in this company. And, as we turn around here, you can see the Personnel Department on the left, left-hand side.

David: I used to work in Personnel Department in my company. Lots of work to do.

Julia: That's an experience. Look here, the Managing Director’s office is on the right. To meet him in his office, you’ll have to go through Ms Hanson’s office; she is the personal assistant of the General Manager.

Jennie: OK. Mm..., Ms Sullivan, I wonder where the ladies toilet is?

Julia: Oh, both toilets are at the end of the corridor, next to the Personnel Department.

Jennie: Fine, thank you, Ms Sullivan.

Julia: All right, so shall we go and have a look at these departments and then meet the general manager Mr Johnson?

All: OK, thank you, Ms Sullivan.
